President Vietnam Cooperative Alliance: Congratulation message to ICA-AP on the occation of Its 60th Anniversary (14/11/1960- 14/11/2020)

In the history of its 60 years of construction and development, ICA-AP has contributed in the development causes of the cooperative movement in the region, from 7 member organizations of 6 countries when it was established and now 109 member organizations of 32 countries to join ICA-AP and becomes the bridge between the cooperative movements in the region with the governments, social organizations and international development agencies through the official working visits of the President of ICA, the President of ICA-AP to the countries in the region.

Looking back to the last 6 decades, in the implementation of 7 Principles and core Values of the cooperatives, with the spirit of solidarity, determination and innovation of the cooperative movement in the region, the member organizations of ICA-AP have been continuing to develop, contribute to the socio-economic development of the countries, become the active partners of UN in the well implementation of the Millennium Development Goals and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, an active, responsible member of International Cooperative Alliance since 1988  has participated the activities of ICA, ICA-AP, in particularly coordinated closely with ICA-AP to host many international conferences such as conducted successfully the 8^th ICA-AP Regional Assembly and the 6^th Cooperative Forum in December 2008 in Hanoi; the 10^th Cooperative Ministers’ Conference in April 2017 and the Regional Forum on Cooperative Legislation in April 2019 in Ho Chi Minh city.

The Covid-19 pademic has been impacted on the economic growth, the number of people living in poverty higher; the cooperative movement in the region is facing the challenges created by the nature and the human to demonstrate the appropriateness, resilience of the cooperatives. In the new context of many opportunities and challenges, Vietnam Cooperative Alliance organized successfully the Member Executive Committee of VCA in the term of (2020-2025) with the objectives and directions to continuing to play the core roles of development of the collective economy and cooperatives in nationwide. Vietnam Cooperative Alliance always committes to contribute together to build up ICA in general and ICA-AP in particular more and more developed and becomes the trustworthy partner in the system of UN.
