Conference aims to promote trade with foreign markets
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade is set to hold a trade promotion conference with foreign markets on July 29.

The event is to be held as part of a series of monthly trade promotion briefings with foreign markets throughout this year and 2023, organised by the Trade Promotion Agency.
The purpose of the conference is to provide updates on the trade promotion requirements of localities, industry associations, and businesses, whilst creating a forum aimed at disseminating information, policies, regulations, standards, and conditions for imports and exports. This is in addition to news on foreign market opportunities which can serve the management of trade promotion activities and support enterprises in terms of business development.
As many as 300 representatives from domestic and foreign agencies, businesses, and associations of multi-sectors are due to participate in the conference via both in-person and online platforms.
The conference will take place over two sessions, with the first session providing updates on the situation of foreign markets, regulations, standards, and conditions which may impact Vietnamese import and export activities. It will also give recommendations to localities, associations, and import-export enterprises, before touching upon Vietnamese trade promotion with foreign markets.
The second session will discuss difficulties and advantages, whilst proposing various support needs and initiatives related to localities, associations, and businesses’ trade promotion, along with import and export activities with foreign markets.
This comes after the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a conference on trade promotion with foreign markets in the first quarter of the year, featuring the participation of 10 industry associations, 26 local departments of industry and trade, as well as 51 trade offices and trade offices’ branches in 46 foreign markets.
During this function participants made numerous comments and suggestions for trade promotion activities in foreign markets.
In his remarks, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai emphasised that the country continues to rely heavily on foreign trade, especially exports, which play an important role in national economic development and have a positive impact on the nation’s economic growth index.
The conference will create plenty of opportunities for industry associations to discuss a wide variety of difficulties and advantages, as well as proposing support needs and initiatives related to the implementation of trade promotion, along with outlining the country’s import and export activities with foreign markets.
On that basis, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with localities, associations, and businesses, will make greater efforts to seek effective trade promotion measures.
